The difference between algebraic expressions and equations is that when your doing expressions there are no equal sign and they cannot be solve unless given a variable. On the other hand, an equation has an equal sign and it must be solved the figure out what the value of the variable is. An example of an expression is 4g +13; when g=4. An example of an equation is 4g +13 = 29.You can see in these examples, that the expression tells you what the variable is equal to. You then have to substitute the value of the variable into the expression and then you can solve to find the answer, which would be 29. You can see in the example of the equation, you are given the answer 29, but have to isolate the variable by using the inverse operation. Then you can evaluate the equation and you would find that the variable g = 4.

MaxwelI, I love how you added examples in your response and I also love how you answered the question in a clear order. One thing I noticed, is where you said "You can see in the example of the equation, you are given the answer 29," I think you should have talked a little bit more about expressions, or what makes that an example an expressions vs. an equation. For example, you could have said "And you can see that the expression does not have any equal sign." But otherwise, I love your response I would give you a (3) because you used great math vocabulary words in your response.✅

There are several differences between expressions and equations. An expression gives you the value of the variable and you have evaluate to find the answer . for example 15y+5 when y=2. Also the expression does not have an equal sign.Although expressions and equations look the similar because they both have variable and numbers. An equation gives you the answer and you had to solve to find value of the variable. For example , 15y+5=20. You can see that the expression gives you the variable.

The difference between an expression and an equation is that when you are working with expressions there is no equal sign you will have to simplify and use the value of the variable to find the answer. when working with equations there is an equal sign. you have to solve the equation to find the value of the variable. For example an expression is 16y*12;(y=5). An example of an equation is 16y*12=576. The main difference is that, An expression gives the value of all variable and you are evaluating to find the answer. An equation gives the answer and you are solving to find the value of the variable.

Hey Danielle! I think it's so cool that I get to comment on your work even though you're in a different class :) I hope you like my advice. I think you have great details in your response, however your first two sentences are run-ons. Like Ms. Careccia said in class, "we are not texting", so you have to remember to put commas in between the list of characteristics and also make sure you have capital letters at the start of your sentences. Grammar counts (and it is part of the rubric). Aside from the grammar, I think you have a really great answer.

Danielle, you explained the difference between both expressions and equations perfectly. I think your description of equation is great, but, you need to work on your explanation for expressions. The step of "simplifying" is actually something that expressions and equations have in common, it is not a difference. Your examples are great!! But be careful not to repeat the same thing over and over in sentences 4 & 5. Also, make sure to capitalize at the beginning of a sentence not in the middle. :)

The difference between algebraic expressions and equations is that when your doing an expression, there's no equal sign and they cannot be solved unless given a variable. An equation is an algebraic sentence that has an equal sign and it must be solved to figure out the value of the variable. An example of an expression is 4a+13 when a=4. An example of an equation is 4a+13=29. You can observe in these examples that the expression tells you what the variable is equal to. Then, you have to subtitute the value of the variable into the expression and then you could solve to find the answer, which is 29. You can observe in the equation that the answer (29) is provided to you, but you have to isolate the variable by using the inverse operation. Then you can evaluate the equation and you would find that the variable a=4. There are also similarities, they both have operations, numbers, and variables. These are the differences between equations and expressions.

The difference between algebraic expressions and equation is that with equation you have to find the value of the variable. For example 10z + 17=27.In an expression the value of the variable is already given. When finding out the value of a variable in an equation when you solve it by using the inverse operation. First you isolate the variable then you divide the number next to the variable .however for an expression you must substitute the value that was given for the variable. The similarities between an expression and an equation is that they both includes variables. They both are mathematical statement based on variables coeffcient ,constants and operation .

An equation means a mathematical complete sentence. An example of an expression is ex: 3x + 15. an example of equation is ex: 3x + 15=24 x=?. you ican see that an expression does not have an equal sign and an equation does equation does.equations and expressions are different because, like a phrase an equation is not complete and you are not given the value of the variable for equation.

The difference between algebraic expressions and equations is, in an expression the value of the variable is given. For example 4Y + 60 when y stand for 4. Also expressions that does not have an equal sign and like a phrase it is not complete .In the other hand, an equation is a mathematical sentence that contains an equal sign. Also it is like a sentence its complete, for example 4Y+15=75

The difference between expressions and equations is they have different ways to solve a problem. You have an equal sign in an equation but in a expression there is no equal sign.An expression can be evaluated and an equation can be solved.Example 3x+15=24 that is a equation. An example of an expression is x=3 3x+15.

The difference between an expressions an a equations is a expression given the value of the variable, also equations don't. Expressions have no equal sign. Another example is 3x+15. An equation is different because if you trying to find the value of the variable it has to have an equal sign. For a example 3x15-15=0 3x3 24-15=9. They are similar because they both have operations and variable and numbers.

The similarities between expressions and equations is,that they both use variables to show the missing number, example: 4x +4y.Another example is that numbers are included in the problem so the problem could make more sense.my last reason on how they are the same is that expressions and equations are both part of algebra. The differences between expressions and equations is that expressions do not include an equal sign but on the other hand equations do have an equal sign.Another statement on how they are different is that expressions do not tell you what the variable stands for,but with equations you are given what the variables actually means. My final statement i would like to make is that with an expression you must substitute the variable to get the correct answer. With equations you are able to solve for the variable. This shows the similarities and differences between equations and expressions.

The difference between equations and expressions is when you do a problem that has to do with a expression you don't solve the problem you only write the problem. For example, 603+604 this is a equation because you only write the the problem. When you do equations you have to solve problem that is given.Another example is 604+603=1207 this is a expression because you write the problem and solve the problem.

Zaire, I like how you gave us examples conveying your response, but you left out important parts, you didn't mention about the variables and in your examples, you didn't provide variables and didn't explain it throughly, and what made me puzzeled was in the first sentence, you stated, "when you do a problem that has to do with a expression you don't solve the problem you only write it." This got me puzzeled because you didn't explain it properly. You also didn't mention anything about isolating a variable. But, it's good that you tried. Next time, bring up these points and check before submitting your work. Good job for trying.

The difference between expressions and equation is that expression has no equal signs and also an expression cannot be solve unless it has an variable. An equation has an equal sign and an equation gives the answer. The difference between an expression and a equation is that the expression does not have a equal sign and the equations does and another difference is that the expression does no gives and answer and the equation does. The similarities between a expression and a equation is that they both have variable for example, 3(n+5) that is a expression because it does not have an equal sign, 4xn=108 that is an equation because it has and equal sign and a answer.😊:)

According to google, it says "The difference between equations and expressions is that a equation is a statement indicating the equality of two expressions, but an expression is a finite combination of symbols, numbers and variables that does not indicate equality to another expression." To me, this means that equations are like complete sentences whereas expressions are like incomplete phrases. To tell the difference between an equation and an expression you should look for key words like "is," "equal to," "yields," etc. These key words mean there is an equal sign in the math sentence and therefore is stating that two expression are equal. In the equation you would be given the answer/solution and have to isolate the variable, using the inverse operation to figure out what the variable is equal to. Expressions will have very similar words to equations, however you will not see the "equal sign" words in the phrases. To evaluate an expression, you are usually told what the variable is equal to, then you have to substitute the value of the variable and solve following PEMDAS to figure out what the answer is. (I got my answer from Google.com, and my notes).

The difference between an algerbraic expressions and equations is that expressions are given the value of the variable and evaluating to find the answer. Equations you would have to be trying to figure out the value of the variable. Expressions are like a phrase; that is like a not completed sentence. Equations are like a sentence; they are like a completed sentence. My example of a expression is 16y times 12 (y=3). My example of an equation is 16y times 12 = 576. These are the information to show that expressions are different than equations. They are the same because they both have variables, constants, coefficients, like terms , and unlike terms. Those are the similarities between expressions and equations.

The difference between equations is that an equation has a equal sign and they have to solve the question to figure out the variable. The difference between algebraic expressions and equations is that there are no equal sign and they cannot be solve unless given a variable. An equation has an equal sign and it must be solved the figure out what the value of the variable is. An example of an expression is 3g +13; when g=3g.An example of an equation+10= 29.You can see in these examples, that the expression tells you what the variable is equal to. You then have to substitute the value of the variable into the expression and then you can solve to find the answer, which would be 29. You can see in the example of the equation, you are given the answer 29, but have to isolate the variable by using the inverse operation. Then you can evaluate the equation and you would find that the variable g = 5

The difference between expressions and equations is that when you are doing an equation problem, an equation has an equal sign but an expression does not. An equation does not give you the number for the variable. An expression gives you the number for the variable until the end until you solve it. An expression yopu have a phrase and you must complete it in sentences. when you are giving an expression you are trying to evaluate to find the answer substitutuing the variable. when a solving a equation problem you have to fnd the value of the variable also when trying to figure out the value of the variable it could be tricky. So equations and expressions have similar things in common but the only thing that is different about eachother is that one has a equal sign and one doesn't.
